I am passionate about educating myself and others about the world in which we live and ways we can interact with our surroundings more sustainably. Outside of my work, I stoke my intellectual curiosity by spending time as a research assistant with the ASPIRE ERC (Engineering Research Center) at Utah State University.

The ASPIRE program is part of a National Science Foundation-funded program to advance innovation in electric vehicle adoption and technology. Utah State University serves as the lead institution alongside other global universities, research, and industry partners. The focus of the research conducted through this program is, “

dissemination and scale-level adoption of emergent technology that creates a sustainable and cost-effective platform for wide-spread electrification of the US transportation network.

My research supports the work of the ASPIRE Adoption Research Thrust. This research centers around identifying barriers to the adoption of electric vehicles and ways in which EV innovation can be diffused across consumer segments. As a contributing member of the adoption research thrust, duties support:

  • Critical review of targeted, academic existing literature, journal articles, and case studies.
  • Developing an overview of existing research and an inventory of case studies on electric vehicle adoption across vehicle classes and customer segments.
  • Identifying the various types of data to collect (such as data from media and social channels, surveys, or stated preferences).
  • Employing advanced data analytics skills to collect and process data that may inform research advances in the ASPIRE-targeted knowledge space from an adoption perspective.
  • Identification and design of measures that holistically collect various types of data.
  • Developing and streamlining survey instruments (Qualtrics).
  • Management of a series of market segmented strategic surveys recruited via a professional panel.
  • Analysis and visualization of quantitatively collected data from statistical analysis software (SPSS, Excel)
  • Collaboration with a team to design and deploy channels and communications for adoption information as a way to inform R&D initiatives.
